The 13th annual Baton Rouge Mid-City Merchants sponsored spring art festival, "Hot Art, Cool Nights," will be held on Friday night, May 6. This spring art festival is a premier event for the city. Participating businesses will be filled with thousands of shoppers, artists and art lovers.
During the event, Mid-City businesses sponsor local artists showcasing their original work. Some will be well-known artists and some will showcase new and never before seen talent. Participants are sure to see various mediums and styles of art from works of sculptors, painters, jewelry designers, photographers and more.
Mid City is truly the unique art and design district of the city. Its area spans from I-10 to Lobdell Avenue and from Claycut'Broussard to Florida Blvd./North St. Proceeds from the art festival will help purchase public art for this area of Baton Rouge. Shuttle bus transportation will be available or you may just want to stroll along Government Street and Jefferson Highway to take in the art.
